VIS 2151A - Museum Studies I
This course will introduce students to the world of arts administration focusing on museums. Topics that will be covered include the history of museums, duties performed by a museum director and curator, what is involoved in arts programming and education, intricacies of successful budget planning and marketing, and contemporary issues in museum management. First-hand experience with museums and galleries in the form of field trips as well as hands-on projects are integral aspects of the class. Prerequisites: VIS 1001C and VIS 1002C.
