|VIS 2046A - Intermed. Ceramics:Form & Surf|
This course will expand upon the pottery wheel techniques
first introduced in Ceramics I to the intermediate level.
Utilizing the idea that form and surface solutions develop
together, students will explore a variety of thrown and
altered shapes on the potter's wheel. In addition to the
development of an original body of work, students will
gain experience with basic studio practices including kiln
firings, glaze preparation and healthy studio procedures.
Museum and gallery visits are included to place studio
practice in context to the history of pottery.
