VIS 1023A - Photography I
The technical and aesthetic aspects of black and white photography from simple snapshots to the execution of original works of art. Students are encouraged to explore variants to achieve more sophisticated technical and aesthetic effects. Areas of study include films, camera, image making and composition, film processing, print finishing, and a brief overview of the history of photo- graphy. Students will be responsible for providing their own 35mm "manual" camera as well as film, paper and mounting materials.
