SWK 4196N - Practicum in Social Work
A field work course in which students are placed at different kinds of social work agencies in order to gain first-hand knowledge and experience. Eight hours of field work per week are required. In addition, students meet weekly for seventy-five minutes to discuss experiences in the field and examine difficulties inherent in the implementation of theory to practice. Prerequisites: Prospective interns must meet college-wide internship requirements (refer to the Career Services section in this catalog for more details); SWK 1010N and SWK 2120N or permission of the instructor.
