SSC 6607 - The Politics of Revolution
This course considers the phenomenon of political change, revolution, as a means of achieving a social, political, and economic transformation of society. It examines the preconditions and precipitants of revolution and addresses the problem of institutionalizing revolutionary principles and objectives in the aftermath of conflict. It includes different theoretical considerations regarding the paths to revolution and the different ways revolution may be studied. Students study the difference between revolution and other forms of social and political change. Case studies are included.
