SMP 2047A - Sport Medicine & Athletic Trn
An intensive study of the rapidly growing field of Sport Medicine. The course provides a basic overview of the focus and operation of a sport medicine facility and as it relates to the care of an athlete. Topics include: mechanisms of athletic injuries, injury care, sports injury rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, pharmacology and athletic performance, nutrition and its physiological/ psychological effects. Prerequisite: SMP 1033N or BIO 1002A/1004A.
