POL 3128A - Third World Politics
An introduction to some of the major political, economic, and social dilemmas faced by Third World countries, as well as the variety of policy responses to these dilemmas. Specific features that affect development in the Third World such as poverty, dependency, particular patterns of social stratification, rural-urban dichotomies, militarism, and instability will be analyzed, as will be future develop- ment prospects for the Third World.
