POL 3113A - Political Parties & Elections
This course offers in-depth coverage of American political parties and the American electoral system. It will explore specific historical case studies and assess competing theoretical models/approaches. Considerable attention will be given to the actual operation of America's two-party system, including: party organization and behavior, the subsequent impact on governing and public policy, and the implications that the electoral system holds for the practice of democratic citizenship and America's democratic order.
