MGT 4291N - Advanced Management Internship
A management student may earn an Honors designation if he or she has met the prerequisites, has identified a management internship situation, has gained the approval of a faculty advisor, and has completed the college-wide requirements for an undergraduate internship placement. In order to earn an Honors designation, the student must earn at least an A- in both sections of the Honors project internship. The student will be expected to compare classroom learning to the reality of a business situation and to articulate how business theories are translated into work life. The student will also be expected to identify the challenges of managing projects or people within a real-world business environment and to apply and strengthen his or her interpersonal skills. The major assessments for this honors project internship include a student journal capturing the learning experience, a paper at the completion of each of the two semesters (MGT 4291N and MGT 4292N) and any additional requirements established by the faculty advisor. Prerequisites: Permission of instructor required, student must meet college-wide criteria including 3.7 G.P.A. overall and 15 credits in discipline. The student must complete the pre-work associated with the college-wide cooperative internship.
