LIT 6632 - Poetry Writing
This course is a workshop in the writing of poetry. We will study various poets in depth to analyze their techniques and methodology, focusing on a single poet such as William Butler Yeats; we will practice various poetic techniques through exercise and imitation; we will write poetry. The bulk of the class will consist in the students' development of a chapbook of poems which will be workshopped in class and revised over the course of the semester. Students will be expected to provide clear and specific feedback to their peers to help in the revision process.
