ENG 4090A - Project Sem in Creative Wrtng
The capstone course for the Creative Writing track, required of all students pursuing a concentration in Creative Writing. The course is designed as a multi-disciplinary specialized seminar for seniors (along the line of the CORE senior seminars), in which individual students will choose their field of concentration at the beginning of the course (poetry, short fiction, long fiction, playwriting, screen- writing, television writing, creative non-fiction, journalism) and then pursue intensive creative and critical work in that field. Their creative class work, consisting of new and revised writing handed in and critiqued by their classmates (and the instructor) every week, will culminate in a comprehensive portfolio presentation to their fellow students at the end of the semester. Each final portfolio will be critically evaluated in writing by a fellow class member, and these final evaluations will also be presented to the class, immediately following the respective portfolio presentations.
