ENG 3145A - Topics in African American Lit
These courses will explore the African-American experience through a cultural examination of poetry, drama, and prose. Each offering will introduce students not only to specific writers but also to the music, art, and political/social events that have shaped or are reflected in those authors' works. Course topics may include "20th Century African- American Poetry"; "The African-American Experience: From Civil War to Civil Rights"; "Contemporary African-American Women Novelists." Prerequisite: ENG 1001A.
