|ENG 3114A - The Gothic Novel:Hst&Heritage|
The course traces the history of the Gothic novel beginning
in 1765 with Walpole's "The Castle of Otranto" through the
twentieth century, focusing on English/Irish authors such as
Radcliffe, Godwin, Lewis, Maturin, Hogg, Stevenson, Stoker
and Le Fanu as well as American Gothic authors such as Poe,
James, and Faulkner.
Prerequisite: ENG 1001A.
