EDS 2108N - Field Exp I: Spec Edu
This course is designed to offer childhood, middle childhood, or adolescence special education teacher candidates an opportunity to observe and participate in a classroom that includes students with special needs. Nine hours per week are required. The accompanying seminar will cover New York State Learning Standards, Individualized Education Programs, lesson planning, and strategies for teaching students wih disabilities. Students will serve under the guidance of a certified special education teacher and a college supervisor. Students are evaluated Pass/Fail. Corequisites: EDS 2183N, EDS 2184N and EDL 3146N. Prerequisites: EDH 1021A, EDS 1081A, EDH 1100N, PSY 1001A, PSY 2015A or 2016A and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5.
