|EDL 4149N - Literacy Acquisition II|
This is a continuation of the topics covered in EDL 3146N -
Literacy Acquisition I. It adds the opportunity for
students to formulate a professional philosophy of language
and learning, develop a knowledge of classroom programs
and language learning engagements appropriate for school
age students, and to develop instructional strategies that
contribute to communication competence and performance.
The New York State Learning Standards, introduced in
Literacy Acquisition I, are reviewed and applied to the
content of this course.
Corequisites for Elementary Education Majors: EDH 4113N,
EDH 4114N, EDH 4115N and a field placement.
Prerequisites for Elementary Education Majors:
EDH 3104N, EDL 3146N, and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5.
