EDH 6505 - Mainstrg:Mtng Rdrs Spec Nd,1-6
This course provides for assessment, analysis, program planning and curriculum development (with mandated state curriculum) using modern technology to meet the strengths and needs of readers with special needs. Emphasis will be placed upon the growth and development expected in grades 1-6. This will include individualizing instruction by utilizing specific teaching strategies so that the 1st through 6th grade students who exemplify diversity and multiculturalism can achieve to their highest levels of academic achievement and independence. Finally, evaluation conducted on a yearly basis will become the basis of the following year's assessment. Prerequisite(s): EDL 5500 (Literacy Majors), EDH 5370, EDH 5385, EDH 5351 (Childhood majors - initial track). EDH 5370, EDS 5402 and EDH 5351 (Childhood/Early Childhood Dual Certification Program Majors).
