EDE 8736 - Spec Education Administrator
This course will focus on the administration of educational program for special needs students. Specific topics include: I.D.E.A., the A.D.A., Sec. 504 as they relate to the students'; 'substantive' rights to a F.A.P.E. in the L.R.E. in the best interest of the child with the 'procedural 'mechanism for the protection of those rights. Also included are: the impartial hearing process, the test of 'reasonableness,' appropriate criteria and procedures for determining whether instructional objectives are being achieved, related services, student discipline, and teachers with disabilities.
