ACC 6242 - Govt & Non-Profit Accounting
The primary purpose of the governmental and not-for-profit accounting course is to provide students with an opportunity to investigate the decision-making environment from the public sector or non-profit entity perspective. Emphasis will be placed on analyzing the consequences and impact of regulations and pronouncements established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, the U.S. Comptroller and the Federal General Accounting Office. Emphasis will be placed on fund accounting, budget and control issues, revenue and expense recognition, and issues of reporting for both government and non-profit organizations. Prerequisite(s): 6 credits of undergraduate accounting or completion of Accounting/Finance seminar.
